Sim was a strong supporter of athletic activities, and founded the Kobe Regatta & Athletic Club on September 23, 1870.
He also organized a volunteer firefighting organization within the foreign community, and built a fire lookout tower near his residence.

松任谷夫妻が結婚して2軒目に東京都世田谷区松原に住んでいた時に住居不法侵入の被害に遭ったそうです。

ある日外出から帰宅すると、誰もいないはずのリビングからピアノの音が聴こえる。

気味が悪いので庭先のほうからそーっとリビングのほうへ歩いていった。
すると、リビングにあったグランドピアノに見知らぬ男がちょこんと座り、ピアノを弾いて歌っていたとのこと。

 

目が泳ぎ一心にピアノを弾くその男の形相に一生忘れないくらいの衝撃を受けたという。

その男は近所に住む通院中の精神病患者だったらしい。
この事件があって間もなく（1980年前後）松任谷夫妻は東京都世田谷区岡本1丁目に引っ越したが、事件との因果関係は不明です。

 

松任谷夫妻はその後、この東京都世田谷区岡本1丁目の邸宅に20数年居住したが、この間にも泥棒に2回入られたり飼い犬を襲撃される事件があった（1995年前後）。

 

松任谷夫妻はその後、
2005年に現在の東京都世田谷区岡本3丁目の豪邸に引っ越したが、前述の事件との因果関係は不明です。

結婚前のあいさつに松任谷由実が彼の母と対面したとき「ウチの息子は楽隊屋なんですが、いいのでしょうか?」と言われた。

 

音楽・映像・イベントなど総合プロデューサーとして活躍中の松任谷愛介は実弟、二科展絵画部会員・会友の松任谷國子・千鶴姉妹は従姉妹、エフエム東京の松任谷玉子は姪である。

著書で「電話帳で松任谷のページを開くといきなり親戚」と語っている。

 

大学時代は親友である、前アリコジャパン社長の宮本富生の隣に座って試験を切り抜けた。

大学3年次の時にその親友、宮本富生が休学した際は宮本の彼女の隣に座った。

2012年4月、新たに日本法人となるメットライフアリコ生命保険を設立し、従来のアリコ日本支社が締結した保険契約をすべて日本法人に移している。2014年7月に商号をメットライフ生命保険に、ブランド名を「メットライフ生命」にそれぞれ改めた。

また、当時の私の上司、竹尾誠司は笹川崇（フェラーリのオーナー）の明治大学卒で同窓生であり、竹尾誠司その昔、貿易商社に勤務し中国福建省から、烏龍茶を輸入.

 

竹尾誠司は林同春、茅園建新とも交流が有り、
中国の貿易業務にも詳しい、更に彼の奥さんは六甲道でカラオケバーを経営し、
丸紅御用達の銀座のクラブ（酒）のマダムらに貢いでいると考えられる。

アメリカのカントリーミュージシャンが保守派の政治家を支援している点とU2のボノなどがバラク・オバマ大統領の就任式典に参加していた点を引き合いに出し、ミュージシャンは積極的に政治に関わるべきだと2010年5月25日放送の日本テレビ系報道番組『NEWSZERO』内で発言している。

略歴

1971年、吉田拓郎のアルバム『人間なんて』にミュージシャンとして参加し、以降、アルバム制作やライブにおいてキーボード・バンドマスターを担当する。
1973年、細野晴臣・鈴木茂・林立夫と「キャラメル・ママ」を結成。
その後キャラメル・ママのメンバーを中心にティン・パン・アレイに移行。

1974年末、谷山浩子の「お早ようございますの帽子屋さん」の編曲の仕事に関わったことから本格的にアレンジャーとしての活動を始める。ただし、この仕事は最終的に萩田光雄の手によるものとなっている。
1976年11月29日、横浜山手教会にて荒井由実と挙式。
1982年、フジテレビ系「FNS歌謡祭」で最優秀編曲賞を受賞。
1986年、音楽学校「マイカ・ミュージック・ラボラトリー」を開校し、校長を務める。
同校の講師に桐ヶ谷仁がいる。
1987年、松任谷由実「DIAMONDDUST」コンサートツアーより演出を手がける。

2004年、NHK紅白歌合戦ではゆずのゲスト演奏者（ピアノ）として出演。
2005年、第34回ベストドレッサー賞（学術・文化部門）受賞。
2007年7月23日、ロシア安全保障アカデミーよりロモノーソフ勲章を受章。

株式会社横浜正金銀行（よこはましょうきんぎんこう、英称：Yokohama Shokin Bank, Ltd.）は、かつて存在した日本の特殊銀行。
通称・正金、YSB。
1880年（明治13年）に開設された国立銀行条例準拠の銀行で、外国為替システムが未確立だった当時、日本の不利益を軽減するよう現金（正金）で貿易決済を行なうことを主な業務としていた。
その名の通り神奈川県横浜市中区に本店を置いた。
東京銀行（現在の三菱東京UFJ銀行）の前身とされる。

貿易金融・外国為替に特化した銀行であり、明治維新後急速に成長し、やがて列強の仲間に加わっていく日本を国際金融面で支え、香港上海銀行（HSBC）、チャータード・マーカンタイル銀行（1959年《昭和34年》HSBC傘下に入り、1982年《昭和57年》HSBCに吸収）と並ぶ外国為替銀行へと発展していった。だが、関東大震災と昭和恐慌で大きな打撃を受け、更に第二次世界大戦においては日本の軍需に必要な外国通貨収集の為の機関と看做されたために、敗戦後の1946年（昭和21年）にGHQの指令によって解体・清算され、外国為替銀行としての役割は新たに設立された東京銀行に引き継がれる事になった。
