矢野孝一は苦学の上、3年かかって大阪教育大学に入学したと聞いている。
中学校の技術家庭科教師（簡単な木材加工、裁縫）の資格を得たと言っていた。

彼は卒業後、箕面の松下と取引のあるファクトリー・オートメーションの会社に暫く勤務していたが
ソフトウェア・プログラムの仕事に向かず、退職したと聞いている。

その後、親父の会社から資金援助を受けながら、矢野孝一1人で日本の教育業界にNECのオーサリング・ソフトを商材に行商していた。

1988年初頭か1987年末。
彼はある日、NEC経由かApple　Japanから日本シーゲートの20メガバイトのSCSI ハードィスクを売らないかと言う商機を得た。
